Associate Attorney - JD Graduate (Pending or Recent Virginia Bar Exam) — Personal Injury Law

Burnett & Williams, one of Virginia’s most respected personal injury law firms, is seeking an entry-level attorney to join our Midlothian office. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or soon-to-be attorney who has taken (or will take) the Virginia Bar Exam in 2025.
You’ll work directly with seasoned trial attorneys, C. James Williams III and Kimberly J. Raab, gaining valuable hands-on experience in personal injury litigation while helping us fight for justice on behalf of injured Virginians.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in case preparation for personal injury matters, including auto accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement demands
• Conduct legal research and assist with trial preparation
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
• Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations under attorney supervision
• Support the development of case strategy alongside senior attorneys
• Learn, grow, and contribute to a small team with a big reputation
The attorney will work from both the Midlothian and Hopewell offices.
Qualifications:
• JD from an accredited law school
• Sat for (or planning to sit for) the Virginia Bar Exam in 2025
• Strong legal writing and research skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and ready to take initiative
• Passionate about advocating for clients and personal injury law
• A sense of humor and a collaborative spirit — we work hard, but we enjoy the process
