Partner with FTS Inc! We're working with an organization looking to add a Controller to their growing, fast-paced team in Bethesda, MD. This is 5-day in-office, giving you the chance to work side-by-side with a supportive and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, promoting collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and general ledger management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support financial stability and business growth.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights, performance analysis, and strategic recommendations.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and multi-state requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments across the organization to align accounting practices with business goals.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Office and accounting software skills to maintain data accuracy and reporting integrity.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, sound judgment, and effective communication in a dynamic environment.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification required (or in progress).
  • At least 5 years of accounting or financial management experience, ideally in a high-volume environment.
  • Background in facilities services, security services, or similar industries strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience managing financial operations across multiple states a plus.
  • Proficiency in ERP and accounting software systems, preferably Workday accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
