Department: SRSS Clinical Education

FTE: Part Time, 0.6, 48.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Weekend Days

Pay: $38.91 - $60.31/hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:

This is an exciting part-time opportunity for a Clinical Education Resource Nurse (CERN) in a Critical Care unit at MHC or MHN, with the potential for job sharing one shift per week, allowing for a total of 0.9 FTE (Full Time). We are looking for passionate and experienced RNs who have recent in-patient Critical Care experience and an eagerness to educate and support the next generation of nurses.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with clinical nurses on orientation, providing valuable education and clinical support to facilitate their transition to competent clinical practitioners.
• Assess the learning needs of clinical nurses in collaboration with unit educators and preceptors.
• Participate in new clinical staff orientation and deliver essential learning activities covering clinical competencies, policies, and technologies.
• Mentor new clinical staff and assist in evaluating their clinical performance in partnership with unit leadership.
• Utilize critical thinking skills and make decisive judgments while working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Nursing.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a critical care setting.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, with the card in hand before the start date. BLS or CPR cards must be valid for at least sixty days after hire.
