Responsibilities & Expectations:
This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to modify, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment and components at our Southland Automation facility in High Point .
- Provide repairs of electrical equipment and components
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system drawings, diagrams, schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Solder and desolder as needed
Qualifications and Competencies:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years working in an industrial electrical service repair position with switchboards, motor controls, E-houses preferred ; electronics and/or computer repair is helpful
- Must be comfortable with electrical equipment and components and have mechanical/electrical aptitude
- Must have soldering experience
- Good at developing solutions to equipment operational problems
- Read, interpret, and modify documents and schematics
- High degree of technical aptitude and math skills
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
