Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of the position is to perform general facilities repair and maintenance of equipment and buildings in support of unaccompanied housing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to:
    1. Replacing electrical components such as receptacles, switches, wiring, fixtures, and motors.
    2. Patching minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound.
    3. Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
    4. Painting buildings, structures, and equipment as needed.
    5. Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
    6. Replacing damaged wall paneling and floor tiles.
    7. Hanging doors and installing or replacing door locks.
    8. Replacing broken window panes.
    9. Performing general maintenance and basic repairs on equipment and machinery.
    10. Identifying and documenting Real Property Inventory items.
  • Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in general maintenance, facilities repair, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools commonly used in building and equipment maintenance.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and ability to work in compliance with OSHA and workplace safety regulations.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background check, if required for the position.
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.   
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
