Tractor/Trailer Aprentice plays a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our fleet of trucks and trailers.
The Apprentice assists experienced mechanics with the following:
Perform maintenance and repairs on freight tractors and trailers.
Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Possess thorough knowledge of all DOT safety inspections.
Execute repairs to diesel engines as needed.
Collaborate with fellow mechanics and shop foremen to diagnose and repair company vehicles.
Regularly perform yard checks to maintain safety and efficiency.
Communicate with relevant divisions regarding vehicle status and availability.
Handle special projects as assigned by management.
