Job Requirements Education Required: Graduate from a school of Surgical Technology or 5 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist. Required: Credentialed by the ABSA or CAAHED as a certified first assistant/certified surgical technologist or certified surgical assistant having graduated from an accredited program en route to certification with proof of eligibility to take exam for certification Experience Required: Previous hospital and/or work experience as a Surgical Technologist for 36 months before First Assistant Program. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams Strong analytical/problem solving skills Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment Able to work in a fast paced environment Ability to maintain personal effectiveness while dealing with various personalities, skill levels, and rapidly changing situations Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days and maintained throughout employment
