About the Role:

As a Hostess at Mad Cow - MC Eagan, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience. Your primary goal is to manage guest seating efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. You will coordinate with the waitstaff and kitchen to ensure smooth service flow and timely seating arrangements. Additionally, you will handle reservations, manage waitlists, and address guest inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously. Your role is essential in setting the tone for the entire dining experience, contributing to guest satisfaction and repeat business.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and manage a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage reservations and waitlists.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working as a hostess or in a similar front-of-house role in a restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of food and beverage menus to assist guests effectively.
• Conflict resolution skills and experience handling guest complaints professionally.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating process to optimize table turnover and guest comfort.
• Maintain an organized waitlist and manage reservations using the restaurant’s booking system.
• Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate guest seating and service flow.
• Answer guest questions regarding menu items, wait times, and restaurant policies in a professional manner.
• Handle guest concerns or complaints promptly, escalating issues to management when necessary.
• Ensure the hostess station and entrance area are clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
• Assists servers in cleaning and resetting tables when needed.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as required, including setting up the hostess station.
• Managing Doordash and over the phone take out orders.
